1.1 Nature of the Fellowship
The Fellowship is an experiential learning programme designed to provide selected Digital Creators with exposure to India’s media, cinema and cultural ecosystem through participation in the Kriya Mahotsav Film Festival and associated field activities.
Selection to the Fellowship does not create any employer-employee relationship with the organisers.
1.2 Financial Responsibility
Applicants must note that this Fellowship is ENTIRELY SELF-FUNDED. The organisers will not reimburse or bear any expenses whatsoever, including but not limited to travel, lodging, boarding, local transport, or daily meals. All arrangements must be independently managed by the selected fellows.
1.3 Arrival in Mumbai
The Ganesh Utsav in Mumbai will be celebrated from 14 September to 24 September 2026, culminating in the grand Ganesh Visarjan on 24 September 2026. As one of the world’s largest public cultural celebrations, it offers exceptional opportunities for documenting faith, community participation, public art, traditional craftsmanship and civic management.
Selected Fellows are strongly encouraged to arrive in Mumbai as early as possible during the festival period, subject to their personal schedules and resources. The earlier participants arrive, the greater the opportunity to document the many facets of the celebrations across different neighbourhoods and communities before the immersion day. This additional time will significantly enrich the quality and diversity of their content and provide valuable material for their professional portfolios.
Participants are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements for any additional days they choose to stay in Mumbai. Mumbai Police is being intimated about your arrival, to ensure your safety and security
1.4 Mandatory Content Assignment
Every selected Delegate will be expected to produce digital content documenting Mumbai’s Ganesh Festival and Visarjan celebrations.
As part of this assignment, Fellows are also expected to document and report on the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s public appeal encouraging citizens to celebrate an environmentally responsible Ganesh festival by using eco-friendly clay (mitti/shadu) idols instead of Plaster of Paris idols, wherever such practices are observed. Participants are expected to present balanced, factual and respectful coverage based on their observations.

Fellows will receive official recognition, media credentials for future festival access, and a National Digital Creator Certificate from the MY Bharat portal, upon successful completion of the above mentioned deliverables, content creation, and active participation.

Selection through the MY Bharat portal constitutes a provisional offer. Before final confirmation, selected applicants may be required to submit the following documents.

Failure to provide the required documents within the prescribed timelines may result in cancellation of the provisional selection.
